Hi, I’m Chris — chef, Mountain Leader, and founder of Fells Kitchen Adventures.
Fells Kitchen offers guided hikes and outdoor adventure days across Northumberland, the Lake District, the North Pennines and North Yorkshire — paired with gourmet meals cooked fresh in the wild. I create luxury outdoor experiences for private groups, families, corporate teams and special occasions, where the focus is simple: time in nature, shared adventure, and exceptional food. I’ve been a chef in the North East for more than 27 years, running Epicurus Catering since 1998 — known for high-quality catering. In 2020 — during the quietest days of the Covid pandemic — I found myself spending more time back in those landscapes. And in one of those “well… what if?” moments, Fells Kitchen was born: bringing gourmet cooking and guided mountain days together into one unforgettable experience. All my adventures come with catering as part of the experience. Most feature a freshly cooked gourmet two course lunch prepared high up on the fells. On occasions where the terrain makes that tricky, I swap it for a two course ‘posh picnic’ – still every bit as indulgent. Full day experiences finish back at the vehicles with crème brulee, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks. Credentials & Safety
