- Jack's Rake - 19th Aug 25
Jack's Rake - 19th Aug 25
One of the best scrambles in all of The Lakes! Scramble up Stickle Ghyll waterfalls (no need to get wet), then walk around Stickle Tarn to Pavey Ark and the infamous Jack's Rake.
Yes, it's a grade 1 scramble, but perfectly accessible for those who've done a bit of scrambling before. That is my daughter in the pictures. She was 10 when she scrambled up. There is no alternative route here though. If you are not confident, then this is not for you.
Once we've summited, we head over to Harrison Stickle then back down for a two course lunch cooked by Dungeon Ghyll back near the car park.
A two course lunch prepared over a wood fired stove is included, along with further refreshments (including my famous crème brulee!) back at the van later. I would arrange dietary and allergy requirements in advance by email. All diets catered for.
Meeting point - 09.00 - Stickle Ghyll National Trust Car Park, Great Langdale
